Getting there

Lucca is the heart of Tuscany and is often chosen by tourists as a starting point for exploring the nearby art cities Pisa, Florence, and Siena. The historic center’s proximity to the station and highway exit make it easier to access the city. Given the presence of numerous pedestrian areas, the city can be easily visited on foot or by bicycle.

By car

A11 Firenze Mare highway, Lucca East and Lucca West exits
A11 Lucca-Viareggio highway, Lucca East and Lucca West exits
A12 Genova-Rosignano-Versilia-Lucca highway, after the Versilia toll booth, at the height of Viareggio, there is a branch road for the freeway link road connecting Viareggio and Lucca.

By train

Lucca’s train station is in Piazzale Ricasoli, just outside the walls surrounding the historic center, a few minutes’ walk away.
